The Austin Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. provides an extensive array of public service initiatives that correlate with the sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust.
Economic Development
Financial Fortitude is the current Economic Development Program Initiative that is comprised of 10 components which include a collaboration of information from the FDIC, the National Endowment for Financial Education, and other well known financial institutions. This initiative seeks to help our members spread financial literacy throughout our local communities to reduce debt, increase minority entrepreneurship, and drive multi-generational wealth and financial security.

Educational Development
Educational Development is the catalyst to providing educational support to the Austin and surrounding community. Our involvement reaches to young participants of all ages, to inspire, motivate, and support achievement.

International Awareness and Involvement
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is charged with identifying international issues, active involvement in raising awareness of human right issues, recognizing infrastructure challenges and increase global awareness. The Austin Alumnae Chapter strives to educate our service area on global issues, and host events to raise awareness.

Physical and Mental Health
Austin Alumnae chapter seeks to educate members and the community regarding healthy lifestyle options, disease detection and prevention, and eradicating the stigma of mental health diagnosis and treatment. Through our national initiative of Total Woman: Mind, Body, and Spirit, we work to help women address the challenges of living a holistic and healthy life. Some of our programs under this initiative are partnering with Sims Elementary for a chapter sponsored Health & Wellness Fair, participating in the annual American Cancer Relay for Life, and working along side of our Project 13 partner March for Dimes in their March for Babies event.

Political Awareness and Involvement/Social Action
Drives Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s national social action agenda on the local level within the Austin community; aides in voter registration and education drives, and advocates for political and civic solutions that aid the underprivileged and minority communities.
